...>>Bard: But.. but... I rolled a 20!<<<br /><br />This is the kind of case where IMC the half elf Bard getting a Persuasion roll 28 (say), the Queen would smile indulgently and say something like "Such a joker as always, I shall spare your life *this time*", where the half-orc Fighter rolling a 3 would get his head cut off. Generally with a very high Persusasion check the NPC will take the words in their best possible light. OTOH if the Bard keeps pushing it, the GM should simply not allow a Persuasion check as the result is inevitable.Simonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01173759805310975320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4562546944242885901.post-10938331957390722622021-05-28T02:41:09.276-04:002021-05-28T02:41:09.276-04:00"Although Dungeons & Dragons does not hav..."Although Dungeons & Dragons does not have mechanics for honor or reputation"<br />Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica has Renown which is exactly that. Mythic Odesseys of Theros has Piety which is basically how much a single god likes you but can easily be rewritten to how much a single patron likes you.
